Handle type

The Dutch Sourdough Stirrer was designed for one job: mixing sourdough starter in a small jar without the mess.

Most spoons do not reach the bottom. Most whisks are too wide to fit through the opening. When I started baking sourdough myself, I could not find anything that actually worked, so I made this. This was the first sourdough stirrer of its kind, and it is still the one made with the most care.

The wire fits inside a standard starter jar and cuts through thick, stiff starter in seconds. No scraping the sides. No flour lumps left at the bottom. Just a clean, even mix every time you feed.

What makes it different

The steel is the part most people do not talk about. The stainless steel wire comes from Italy, solid, thick-gauge material that holds its shape under daily use. The copies you will find elsewhere use thin, flimsy wire that bends and warps. This one will not.

The handle is turned from natural beechwood and sits comfortably in your hand. Available in three styles: Classic, Hanging and Smooth.
